Mesa History

Mesa currently has ~10,000 NRA in the Permian, 25,000 NRA in the Haynesville and 10,000 NRA in the Williston Basin across the Mesa III and Mesa IV entities. Mesa continues to focus on acquiring acreage across all major U.S. shale basins.

2018

Mesa Minerals Partners, LLC (“Mesa I”) was formed with Quantum Energy Partners, assembling over 22,000 net royalty acres in the East Texas Haynesville and generating over $35M/year in cash flow.

2020

Mesa I sold to Franco-Nevada Corporation for $135 million, generating more than a 2.5x net return for investors.

2021

Mesa Minerals Partners II (“Mesa II”) formed with $150 million in commitments from NGP Natural Resources XII and NGP Royalty Partners.

2022

Mesa Minerals Partners III (“Mesa III”) launched with $250 million from NGP to acquire acreage in the Haynesville and Permian (Midland & Delaware) basins.

2024

Mesa II assembled ~20,000 NRA and over $70M of NTM cash flow and fully divested through multiple transactions by January 2024, yielding a 2.0x return.

2025

Mesa Royalties IV Holdings, LLC (“Mesa IV”) was formed with a $300 million equity commitment from NGP Royalty Partners III.
